The qualifications have been designed to provide a more ‘hands on’ approach to learning. They focus on occupationally related knowledge, understanding and skills with an emphasis on learning through practical activities.
The qualifications will appeal to learners who are better suited to develop their skills in a more practical, occupationally orientated environment.
It will emphasise learning by doing, helping learners to develop the transferable skills necessary in a changing and dynamic working environment.
The qualifications are approved by the Department of Education (a Level 2 Certificate in Occupational Studies is at the same level as a GCSE with grades from A* – C available).
Learners’ achievements are based on evidence from their practical work throughout their course.

Pupils will be able to choose units from those offered by the Southern Regional College.
