Year 11 study leave 2026.pdf

5th May 2026

Dear Parent/Carer,

The majority of our Year 11 pupils will be completing GCSE module examinations over the coming weeks.

To support pupils during this examination period, Year 11 pupils will be permitted to take study leave at home from Wednesday 6 May to Friday 15 May, when they are not required to be in school. Classes will continue to run as normal, and pupils are welcome to remain in school to study or work if they prefer. Pupils who choose to study at home during this period will not have their attendance penalised.

If a pupil opts to study at home during the dates above, they are only required to be in school when they have an examination.

Pupils are required to attend the following timetabled classes: Technology and Design, Business Studies, Child Development, Physical Education and GCSE Religious Education. Where pupils are only required to attend school for these subjects, they may sign in and out in the same way as for examinations. If any other subjects require pupils to attend lessons to complete coursework or tasks, subject teachers will communicate this directly with pupils.

SRC has concluded for the vast majority of pupils. The small number of pupils who still need to attend have already been spoken to directly by Miss Abraham.

Pupils must wear full school uniform when attending examinations or when studying in school.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our Year 11 pupils every success in their forthcoming examinations.

Kind regards

K Mulholland

Principal
