Year 12 Study Leave
Dear Parent/Carer,
The majority of our year 12 pupils have finished their courses and have started their external examinations, however there a number of subjects who are finishing up their course or completing controlled assessment/portfolios etc.
To support pupils with their revision and to allow pupils to attend classes to finish their work, we run timetabled classes until the end of May. Pupils can revise in school and avail of the expertise of their subject teacher when revising.
We are aware that a number of pupils would prefer to study at home at this time and we are happy for this to happen. Pupils however need to be in school when they have subjects that are still finishing, and it will be the pupil’s responsibility to speak to their teachers and know when these are taking place.
If you would like your child to study at home, you must contact the school on cdarragh243@c2kni.net or 02837522278 to give permission. A note can be given to Mrs Darragh at reception instead. If contact is not made with school and a pupil is not in school, they will be marked absent. If a pupil will only be attending school for certain classes, please let school know when making contact and your child should sign in and out at reception.
If a pupil is studying in school, then the normal school procedures will apply, pupils should go to registration as normal, attend their timetabled classes and will require a note if they need to get out of school. The only change to normal procedures for those revising in school is that all year 12s will be allowed to go out of school at lunchtime, if they sign out and back in on their return. They must return by 1.40pm.
If a pupil has an exam in the morning and they are not revising in school, they should go to registration as normal and sign out after the exam. If the exam is in the afternoon, they should sign in and out at reception. Notes are not needed to leave after an exam.

We will be organising a farewell event for our year 12s once all exams have been completed and we will be in touch with dates and times closer to the time.
