KS3 GCSE Essential Skills
Subject Overview Mathematics is fundamental to everyday life. Its unique language and forms of notation help us to calculate, estimate and problem-solve. It also informs many of the choices and decisions we make about real-life issues and financial capability. The study of mathematics at GCSE can develop a host of skills that are essential to students continuing on in their studies as well as those entering the workplace. These skills include problem-solving, logic and reasoning, and attention to detail. Mathematics is fundamental to everyday life and informs many of the choices and decisions we make about real-life issues and financial capability. The Essential Skills course equips students with the mathematical problem-solving skills relevant to everyday life and the workplace to help make informed choices and decisions.
