|Subject Overview||In the City of Armagh High School we use the SELB Language Framework which provides progression and guidance for teachers of English at Key Stage 3. This Framework identifies learning intentions for Years 8 to 10 to enable pupils to acquire a comprehensive range of language knowledge, understanding and skills. The Framework provides lines of progression which help teachers plan for teaching and learning. It also aids teachers’ understanding of how pupils progress through the years of Key Stage 3, increases expectations of pupil achievement and provides a balance between talking, listening, and the reading and writing of different kinds of texts.||Studying English Language will help you to engage with spoken and written language, allow you to explore texts, words and images and learn how to express opinions, form independent views and challenge ideas.|
