At school we engage with the ‘Independent Counselling In Schools Service’
Counselling has been described in many different ways but we at City of Armagh High School see it as being a supportive relationship; one that can help young people make positive changes in their lives. Counselling provides a safe and confidential space to look at and talk about worries or concerns. It can help our young people find a way to change how they think, feel and cope.
Our school counsellor, Sheena, is provided by Familyworks. She visits school every Thursday. This service is confidential and pupils can self-refer or be referred by a teacher or their parents. Sheena also offers a drop in service at break and lunchtimes on Thursdays. Here, pupils can go and chat to her and see if counselling is for them.
